About the Author

Georgie Holder is a registered nurse with over 40 years of frontline experience, beginning her career as a hospital-trained nurse before completing her degree at Deakin University. Known for her compassion, wit, and calm under pressure, Georgie has cared for thousands of patients across decades of healthcare change.

A lifelong lover of words, Georgie has quietly nurtured her passion for writing alongside raising a family and working full-time. She is married to her best friend, proud mum to three beautiful adult children, and a devoted dog lover who’s also been “mum” to more than a few furry companions.

She lives on Victoria’s stunning Mornington Peninsula, where the sea breeze, laughter, and stories of resilience continue to inspire her work. This memoir marks her long-anticipated debut—blending humour, heart, and humanity in a celebration of life at the bedside.
